How the Organization works:
Management: With decades of experience in both the public and private sector, our management team keeps us focused on serving the interests of our members and the greater public.
Including oversight of our Network Operations Center, this group keeps our technical environment operating seamlessly for millions of organizations and individuals throughout the state.
This team designs, configures, deploys and maintains all layers of our network infrastructure. They operate in constant consultation with our members and the Board, in order to meet both the current and future needs of our constituents.
From basic broadband to advanced services for experimental networks, our core engineers are instrumental in connecting millions of Californians with reliable and forward-thinking solutions.
Responsible for our relationships with telephone, cable and dark fiber providers (for example), this team manages the provision of lit services and dark fiber, as well as coordinating the implementation of design, deployment and upgrade projects for various member segments.
By ensuring that our internal systems are operating effectively and securely, our Systems & Tools team helps us maintain our focus on customer demands.
This group designs, operates and maintains the VoIP service interfaces between our customers and leading service providers. They also negotiate with providers to offer the best value to our members.
This team oversees our peering and exchange relationships with key internet service providers, content providers and cloud service companies, and collaborates throughout the organization to ensure seamless connectivity.
CENIC’s Communications Team advances the role of the organization to connect our member institutions to one another and other institutions and resources around the world. CENIC’s multi-media activities include communicating innovative uses of the network, advances in research and education among CENIC community, and partnering initiatives for members, governing agencies, and the public.
As a non-profit with a mission to bring connectivity to the greater public, we depend upon our Accounting and Administration teams to minimize our operating costs and help us pass savings on to our members.
